ALMOND MILK RECIPE – Last week, I visited my best friend’s house, Wulan. She was making homemade almond milk when I came. Actually, not only her but some of my friends have been making it for months. Many of them told me so many amazing things about it and I finally got to try a glass for myself at Wulan’s house. If you ask me about the taste, it’s so creamy, delicious and entirely customizable!

Yup… after having almond milks a couple of times; I am kind of hooked on to it. It is easy on the tummy and there is no after milk smells in the palate, good for you who are a milk hater and good for kids who are allergic to milk or have lactose intolerance. It is a delicious and healthier alternative to soy and cow milk. Almond milk is also perfect for cereal, baking and drinking straight alongside baked goods.

Besides, once Wulan showed me how easy it is to make, I may never drink store-bought again. Some of you who read this may answer yeahh…. It’s better than store bought! Easy to make! Homemade almond milk is the best! Everyone will agree that it is both less expensive and healthier when you make it yourself. With homemade almond milk recipe, you definitely can control the quality and integrity of your milk- the freshness of the nuts, the sugar levels, and the texture. In addition, if you are dairy-free (by choice or necessity), making your own almond milk is a great way to save money and avoid additives. The fresh raw almond milk contains live enzymes with no additives or preservatives.

To make the perfect almond milk at home, all you need is water, a blender and a cup of Almonds. Check it out.


  • 1 lt boiled water
  • 250 gr. Almonds
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • a pinch sea salt

Additional Materials (Optional)

  • 1 tbsp agave nectar. Any sweetener, such as honey or maple syrup, can be substituted for the agave nectar.


  1. Place almonds in a bowl, peel the almonds, then soak for at least 12 hours, drain water.
  2. Discard the soaking liquid. Rinse the almonds several times to remove the anti-nutrients and enzyme inhibitors.
  3. Throw the rinsed almonds and 400 ml of  water into the blender. Blend until finely textured.
  4. Add 600 ml of water, honey, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until creamy and smooth.
  5. Strain using a nut milk bag or a thin dish towel. Simply lay a clean dish towel over a mixing bowl, pour over the almond milk, and carefully gather the corners and lift up. Then squeeze until all of the liquid is extracted. Serve with honey.

*It can be served for 4 glasses, with 250 ml per glass.

Some tips for you guys, for the best results, choose fresh raw almonds, and soak them to neutralize enzyme inhibitors, activate their full nutrient potential, and soften them so they’re easy to pulverize. The longer you soak the almonds, the creamier the milk turns out.
