COCOPANDAN PLETOK BEER RECIPE – A refreshing beverage made of a combination of some Indonesian spices such as red ginger, pandan leaf, lemon grass, and secang wood to make it have red color. Pletok beer is a traditional beverage from Batavia, Indonesia. You must wonder whether it contains alcohol or not because of its name. Don’t worry guys, it doesn’t contain alcohol eventhough its name is beer. It is a sweet and healthy beverage that is very beneficial for your health. Do you know why? Ingredients

  • 1 l water
  • 120 g sugar
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 sticks lemongrass, pounded
  • 50 g red ginger, pounded, toasted, and sliced
  • A pinch of secang wood
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. coffee
  • 1 piece pandan leaf, knotted

Filling Ingredients

  • Nata de coco
  • Fresh basil seeds

Steps

  1. Pletok beer: Cook all the ingredients at a low heat until boiled and aromatic, then remove from the heat and strain.
  2. Prepare a cup, put the filling in the cup until half of the cup.
  3. Pour the pletok beer into the cup until close to the cup edge.
  4. Cocopandan Pletok Beer is now ready to be served.
