HOT MILK BAJIGUR RECIPE – Do you know Milk Bajigur beverage? Well, Bajigur itself is a hot and sweet beverage native to the Sundanese people of West Java, Indonesia. The main ingredients are coconut milk, palm sugar, a small amount of ginger, and a small pinch of salt. Traditionally, bajigur uses pandan leaf for its fragrant but nowadays people can also use vanilla extract. This time, we will give another variant of bajigur, we will not use coconut milk as one of the ingredients but we use liquid milk. It is much sweeter.   • 1 l liquid milk
  • 150 g palm sugar
  • 50 g red ginger, pounded, toasted, and sliced
  • 2 pieces pandan leaf, chopped
  • 5 cm cinnamon, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt


  1. Put all the ingredients in a pan, cook at a low heat until boiled and aromatic while keep being stirred. The remove from the heat.
  2. Strain the milk bajigur into a serving glass.
  3. Hot Milk Bajigur is now ready to be served while it is hot.

Note: Make approximately 5 glasses.
