SAKURA SPONGECAKE RECIPE – Making sakura spongecake is same as making spongecake. The difference between them is the final shape. Sakura spongecake uses sakura mold. Its ingredients and how to make it can be seen below. Enjoy it.

Spongecake Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 g wheat flour
  • 50 g margarine, melted
  • 3 tbsp condensed milk
  • 1 tsp mixed spice
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt

Caramel Ingredients

  • 150 g sugar
  • 150 ml hot water


  1. Heat up sugar until melted and slightly brown, pour water and stir them together. Cook until boiled, remove from the heat, and let it cool.
  2. After it is cool, mix with 3 tbsp condensed milk and melted margarine, set aside.
  3. Sift the wheat flour together with baking soda, mixed spice, and salt, then set aside. Mix the egg and sugar until fluffy and white. Pour the wheat flour mixture, stir with a wooden spoon. The last, add the caramel ingredients. Stir again.
  4. Pour the mixture into buttered mold.
  5. Steam in a hot pan for 20 minutes. Remove from the heat.
