SWEET POTATO AND CORN LEMET RECIPE – So many foods and beverages can be made of white sweet potato by us. Besides timus, gethuk, and kolak which are, of course, so delicious we can also make another traditional delicious snack called sweet potato and corn lemet. Potato lemet is usually made from grated potato mixed with brown sugar then wrapped with banana leaf and steamed. But, to make potato and corn lemet, there are some additional ingredients such as sweet corn, grated coconut, etc. The ingredients and steps of it can be seen in the recipe below.


  • 500 g white sweet potato, steamed and mashed
  • 100 g sweet corn, threshed
  • 75 g grated coconut
  • 25 g sugar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • Banana leaf


  1. Mix white potato with sweet corn, grated coconut, sugar, and salt while being stirred until well combined, then set it aside.
  2. Take a piece of banana leaf, fill it with 2 tablespoon of lemet mixture. Wrap and fold both banana tips. Repeat with the remaining mixture until all of the mixture is used up.
  3. Steam the lemet for about 40 minutes until well cooked, remove from the heat.
  4. Serve it soon because it is very delicious to taste warmly.

Note: Make approximately 20 pieces.
