TALAM PANDAN CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE

TALAM PANDAN CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE – This cake is a variation of Talam Pandan cake with two layers of color; chocolate produced from cocoa powder and green color made from food coloring. The recipes, ingredients, and how to make this cake are presented below.

Chocolate Layer

  • 225 grams rice flour
  • 50 grams of starch
  • 25 grams of cocoa powder Cocoa Java
  • 1 liter of thin coconut milk
  • 300 grams sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Seasoning

  • 75 grams starch
  • 3 tablespoons rice flour
  • 500 ml coconut milk
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 drops green dye

Directions

  1. Chocolate layer: Boil the coconut milk, sugar, and salt, stir constantly until boiling. Remove and set aside. Mix rice flour and starch. Dissolve with the coconut milk mixture little by little, stir until smooth. Pour the mixture into the cake pan that have been heated and smeared with frying oil, as high as 1/4 of the mold. Steam for 15 minutes until cooked, set aside.
  2. Green Layer: Boil the coconut milk, sugar, and salt, stir constantly until boiling, pour into a mixture of rice flour and starch, stirring. Add green coloring and stir well. Pour onto a layer of chocolate, steamed again for another 10 minutes until cooked, remove and allow to cool.
  3. Remove the cake from the mold, place on a serving plate.
  4. Talam pandan chocolate cake is ready to be served.
