GREEN TEA ICE CREAM RECIPECombination of sweet, creamy, and refreshing in a bowl of green tea (matcha) ice cream. Yup green tea ice cream has become one of the most popular desserts. For some people this one is seriously easy and good. My mum told me that it is amazing as long as we only use egg yolks and not the whole egg. I also add the matcha to the boiling milk/cream to help it dissolve. I’m really excited to share this recipe with you today! It’s a pretty simple recipe to make at home. Cheers.

  • 200 ml fresh milk
  • 175 ml heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch in a little water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp matcha/green tea pasta


  1. Combine egg yolks and sugar until the color turns pale. Stir in cornstarch mixture. Set aside.
  2. In a pan, heat milk and cream over low heat, gently stir until almost boiling. Then turn off the stove.
  3. Add matcha pasta and egg yolks mixture into the milk. Combine well. Cook over low heat while stirring until thick. Lift.
  4. Prepare ice water in a container, and then put the pan into it so that the dough quickly cool, while continuing to stir until cold.
  5. Once cool, transfer to a dish and then freeze in the freezer.
  6. Once frozen, puree using a mixer until soft, and then freeze again into the freezer. Do this step for 3-4 times until the ice cream really soft.
