CHICKEN KATSU RECIPE WITH SALAD AND YOGURT – As I told you before, last week I spent weekend in my aunt’s house. Her cooking are awesome! And what interesting is there should be a salad in every meal. That perhaps is a big contribution why she always gets creative with salads. She also always adds plain yogurt on in to make it healthy. Chicken katsu recipe with salad and yogurt is perfect for lunch or dinner and can be adjusted with your taste.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken fillet
  • 4 tbsp wheat flour
  • 400 gr bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • salt to taste
  • pepper powder to taste
  • 4 carrots
  • round lettuce to taste
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 can of pineapple (already cut)
  • 3 boiled egg
  • 300 gr plain yogurt (unsalted)
  • 1 lemon rind
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 pepper

Directions

  1. Firstly, prepare 3 different plates for the flour, egg and bread crumbs.
  2. For chicken katsu: smear salt and pepper evenly to the chicken fillets, put into the flour plate (thinly smeared) then add egg and bread crumbs.
  3. After that, let stand for 1 hour in the refrigerator so that the seasonings and flour is attached to the meat and the result is more crunchy. Deep-fried the meat over a little heat until it turns gold in color.
  4. For the salad: peel the carrot and then shave it, cut lettuce into pieces, dice red bell pepper, cut the boiled eggs and pour canned pineapple (with the water). In a bowl, mix those ingredients into one.
  5. For the sauce: place yogurt in a bowl, then add shaved lemon rind and squeezed lemon on it. Next, add salt and pepper. Combine.
  6. Put salad on a plate and then put the sauce on the side (or on it), then place the chicken katsu. Enjoy!
