BEEF TRIPE FRIED RICE RECIPE – Tripe is a type of edible offal from the stomachs of various farms animals. In Indonesia, beef tripe dish is called babat. This Indonesian recipe can be fried with spices or served as soup or soto babat (tripe soto). Wanna try to make 2 in 1 recipe? Rice as the main dish, namely beef tripe fried recipe.   • 800 gr cooked rice
  • 200 gr steam tripe, cut into oblique slices, fried for some minutes
  • Petai, peeled and cut into two, (*petai is beans with pungent odor)
  • 4 cloves of garlic, grated, soaked in ½ teaspoon vinegar and 2 teaspoon water
  • 6 onions, cut into thin slices
  • 10 red chilies, boiled, pounded
  • 2 green onions


  1. Stir-fried onions and garlic using margarine until the aroma fills the room. Add chilies and keep frying until it is cooked. After that add tripe and petai.
  2. Add grated garlic and vinegar. Continue stirring until the seasoning in tripe tastes strong.
  3. Add rice, sweet soy sauce, and green onions. Stir-fried until the fried rice is cooked. Remove and set aside.
  4. You can add pickled cucumber as good companion for your main dish. (Based on your preference).

Tips to get rid of the tripe’s smell

  1. Soak the tripe in whitewash for about 30 minutes. After that, wash the tripe using your hand and spoon to scrape it.
  2. After you make sure that the tripe is clean, soak it for another some minutes in lime water. Then, wash the tripe thoroughly.
