  • 2 snapper, cut each into 3 parts
  • 10 star fruit
  • 50 grams basil leaves
  • 800 ml water

Smooth seasoning

  • 3 garlic
  • 1 cm turmeric
  • 2 cm ginger
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3 red chilies
  • 1 stalk of lemongrass, pounded
  • 2 orange leaves
  • 1 tomato, diced


  1. Boil water, stir in seasoning, lemongrass, lime leaves and fish. Keep cooking to allow the seasoning to absorb.
  2. Add tomatoes, star fruit, and basil leaves. Cook until basil leaves wither.
  3. Best served warm.

The fish in this recipe is snapper. But for your information, if you have trouble finding snapper in the market or grocery store nearby, it can be replaced with any fish that you like. For instances; giant trevally, tilapia, milk fish, or gurame.
