KALEDO RECIPE – Kaledo (or kaledo soup, kaki lembu donggala) is a traditional soup from Donggala, Sulawesi, Indonesia and consisted of beef and spicy broth. The meat used in this particular food is cow’s feet and the marrow.


  • 500 grams cow foot, chopped
  • 3000 ml water
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 10 red peppers, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 packet powdered beef flavored broth
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tamarind, pounded
  • 4 tablespoons fried onions, for sprinkling


  1. Boil cow foot over a small heat along with water and 1/2 tablespoon salt until cow foot tender.
  2. Add cayenne pepper, salt, broth powder, sugar and tamarind. Cook until boiling and allow condiment to absorb. Lift.
  3. Serve warm with a sprinkling of fried onions on top.
