YOUNG JACKFRUIT CURRY RECIPE – Jackfruit is a source of calories. Some essential minerals and nutrients are also contained in jackfruit, such as vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C. Young jackfruit can be cooked as a mixture of a variety of vegetables, or cooked to be gudeg, gulai nangka, sayur lodeh. Here’s one recipe to cook young jackfruit as vegetables, namely gulai nangka muda or young jackfruit coconut curry.


  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil, for sautéing
  • 1 liter coconut milk from 1 coconut grain
  • 500 ml thick coconut milk from 1 coconut grain
  • 2 pieces of bay leaf
  • 2 cm galangal
  • 3 pieces of orange leaves
  • 350 g young jackfruit,cut and then cooked stew
  • 8 long beans, cut into pieces
  • 3 pieces of cabbage, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind water

Softened seasoning

  • 6 big red chilies
  • 8 onions
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar


  1. Preheat the cooking oil, stir-fry until the aroma fills the room, add bay leaves, galangal, and lime leaf.
  2. Add coconut milk, jackfruit, long beans, cabbage, and thick coconut milk.
  3. Pour tamarind water and then cook for some minutes. Remove. Best serves hot.
