BANANA LAPEK SAGAN RECIPE – Indonesia is rich with its cuisine because there are so many cultures here that makes it have many special foods and beverages. Every county has its own special and unique both foods and beverages. Here, we will provide you with one of special Indonesian food coming from West Sumatera, it is lapek sagan. It is made of sticky rice, Kapok banana, and grated young coconut. Banana leaf is used as its wrapper. It is very sweet and easy to make. Want to know how to make it?   • 1 bunch of young Kapok banana (or 8-10 pieces)
  • 1 glass of sticky rice
  • 1 young coconut (roughly grated)
  • Banana leaves
  • Salt


  1. Cleanse the sticky rice. Peel the banana then mix with the grated young coconut. Add vanilla extract, then knead until become mixture.
  2. Prepare banana leaves to wrap the mixture. Wrap the mixture one by one in cone shape.
  3. Steam the mixture until well cooked. Serve it together with hot coffee.
