LALAMPA CHOPPED FISH RECIPELalampa is a special and unique food from Manado. It is a kind of lemper filled with chopped bonito fish which has been cooked first. Want to know this special delicious Manado food? You can see the following Lalampa recipe.


  • 1 bonito fish, chopped
  • ½ kg sticky rice
  • 3 cups of thick coconut milk (± 600 ml)
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp fine garlic
  • 1 stalk of lemon grass, pounded
  • 3 tomatoes, made as puree
  • 3 pieces pandan leaves
  • 10 pieces basil leaves
  • 10 pieces lemon basil
  • Banana leaves

Fine spices

  • 5 red chilies
  • 1 piece ginger
  • Salt


  1. Steam the sticky rice half cooked. Put it into 2 ½ cups of coconut milk, add salt, stir well.
  2. Then steam again at a medium heat.
  3. Sauté the fine spices together with garlic, lemon grass, and bonito fish for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add the rest of the spices except the glutinous rice and let the water dried, then take the pandan out and let it cool.
  5. Take a spoonful cooked glutinous rice, put it into the banana leaf and press until flatten. Put the bonito fish in the middle of it then roll as an orb like lontong. Spread vegetable oil on the leaf the bake for a while.
  6. Now it is ready to be served.
