PEANUT CONGEE RECIPE – A delicious breakfast menu that is famous among the vegetarians. Most of people like it from young to old people. Porridge or Asian people commonly call it as congee is a good meal because it has high protein. In Indonesian itself, we have some special congee such as Indonesian chicken congee, Indonesian mung bean congee, Indonesian black rice pudding (porridge made of black sticky rice), and peanut congee in which its recipe will be gave to you this time. Peanut congee is a special meal comes from Bandung, West Java. If you are interested in trying it, check the recipe out.


  • 750 cc coconut milk
  • 1 piece of pandan leaf, sliced
  • 1 piece of lime leaf
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 200 g sugar
  • 25 g rice flour
  • 25 g sticky rice flour
  • 200 g peanut, steamed, thrown away its husk
  • 75 g papaya sweets, thinly sliced
  • Red syrup
  • Shaved ice


  1. Cook 500 cc of the coconut milk together with the pandan leaf, lime leaf, salt, and sugar. Make sure to keep stirring in order not to make the coconut milk separated.
  2. Melt the rice flour and the sticky rice flour with the rest of the coconut milk. Pour the flour mixture into the boiled coconut milk while being stir well until well boiled and becomes porridge. Remove from the heat.
  3. Add the steamed peanut and stir well.
  4. Serve the peanut porridge in the serving bowl, sprinkle the porridge with the papaya sweets, and then add the red syrup and shaved ice.
