SPRING ROLL RECIPE

SPRING ROLL RECIPE – Spring roll or lumpia is typical Indonesian fried food and the famous one comes from Semarang. Indonesian spring roll or lumpia is commonly filled with seasoned chopped bamboo shoots with minced chicken or prawns, served with fresh baby shallots or leeks in sweet tauco (fermented soy) based sauce. Let’s try to make it, with the following recipe guide.

Ingredients

  • 12 sheet spring roll skin
  • 150 grams minced chicken
  • 100 grams minced shrimp
  • 100 grams bamboo shoots, sliced
  • 200 grams yam
  • 100 grams bean sprouts
  • 1 stalk spring onion, sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • cooking oil

Spices

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons dried shrimp
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 red onions

Directions

  1. Stir-fry until the spices aroma fills the room. Add chicken and shrimp. Stir until the color changes.
  2. Add bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, chives, salt, pepper and soy sauce. Stir well until all ingredients cooked. Remove and allow cooling.
  3. Take a piece of spring roll skin. Fill the dough, rolls, and paste. Do the same step on the other ingredients.
  4. Fry lumpia until cooked. Serve with sauce, pickles and chives. Lumpia is ready to be served.
