DATES PASTRY RECIPE – Dates are sweet fruit of Phoenix dactylifera (date or date palm) that have been a staple food of the Middle East and the Indus Valley for thousands of years. Dry or soft dates are eaten out-of-hand, or may be pitted and stuffed with fillings such as almonds, walnuts, pecans, candied orange and lemon peel, tahini, marzipan or cream cheese. It is really delicious and healthy as well. It has many beneficial for body. Here, we will provide you with one of dates recipes that is Dates Pastry.   • 300 g Segitiga Biru wheat flour
  • 30 g corn starch
  • 90 g margarine
  • 90 g Wijsman or Orchid butter
  • 100 g icing sugar
  • 2 eggs yolk, 1 for spread
  • 150 g dates, finely chopped
  • 20 g dried milk
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Salt


  1. Mix margarine together with butter and sugar using mixer at high speed for 30 seconds until well-mixed, add egg yolk while keep on mixing.
  2. Add the wheat flour, corn starch, dried milk, salt, and baking powder which has been strained, stir using spatula. Add the chopped dates, stir again.
  3. Flatten the mixture using rolling pin, mold using cookies mold then arrange in the baking tray which has been spread with margarine. Spread the mixture surface using egg yolk, bake in the preheated oven at 150°C for 20 minutes until well-cooked, remove from the oven then let it cool.
  4. Store the date cookies in an air-proof container, serve it.
