KEMBANG GOYANG COOKIES RECIPE – Kembang Goyang is also one of Indonesian traditional cookies. If it’s translated into English, the word kembang goyang means a shaking flower. Kembang goyang is made of rice flour which is mixed with eggs, sugar, a pinch of salt, and coconut milk. Do you want to know its special recipe?   • 250 g rice flour
  • 150 g tapioca starch
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. broth
  • 2 eggs yolk, freely mixed
  • 120 ml warm water
  • 6 tbsp. lime betel water
  • 2 sticks of celery, finely chopped
  • 600 ml vegetable oil


  1. Soak the kembang goyang molds in the vegetable oil for one night.
  2. Mix the rice flour together with tapioca starch, salt, and broth then stir.
  3. Add the egg yolk, warm water, and lime betel water, stir again.
  4. Add the chopped celery and stir well.
  5. Take a small piece of the kembang goyang mixture using ladle then put it into the molds until the molds edge.
  6. Put it into the preheated vegetable oil while being shaken until unattached.
  7. Fry at a medium heat until slightly golden and dry. Remove from the heat and drain.
  8. Store in the air-proof container and serve it.

Note: Make approximately 500 g.
