LONTONG PARIS COOKIES RECIPE – Lontong Paris Cookies is one of unique cookies which is very different from other cookies. As we know, lontong is a kind of food wrapped with banana leaf but this cookies are not wrapped with banana leaf, so it is unique right? One more info, this cookies are not from Paris, a very far away city in France but it is from Sulawesi. This cookies also called as Dates Cookies in which making this cookies does not need any dates, but we still wonder why it is called as Dates Cookies in Sulawesi. To make this cookies, we just need some ingredients which are very easy to find because we can easily find them in the markets. Okay, let’s see the recipe of it.


  • 250 g butter
  • 75 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 300 g wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch

Caramel Layer Ingredients

  • sugar (you can adjust its amount according to your taste)
  • boiled water
  • peanut, chopped and roasted for sprinkle on the top of caramel


  1. Lontong Paris Cookies: Butter the butter and powdered sugar until pale and fluffy, then add the egg. Add the wheat flour a little by little and cornstarch into the mixture, stir until well combined.
    Mold the mixture as big as thumb or according to your taste. Put the cookies into the baking tray spread with margarine. Bake in the oven at 160-180° C for about 30 minutes until well baked. Remove from the heat and let it cool then set aside.
  2. Caramel Layer: Sauté the sugar at low heat until melted and slightly golden, don’t forget to stir it. Then add the boiled water a little by little. Add the cookies into the pan, make sure that all the cookies surface covered by the caramel. Then remove from the pan, then roll the cookies into the bowl filled with chopped peanut. Let them cool then store them in the air-proof container.
