CORN ONION SAUCE RECIPE – Corn is not only enjoyed as roasted corn. Do you know that corn can be an interesting menu, namely corn onion sauce? If you want to know the ingredients and ways of how to make it, take a look at the following recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of sweet corn
  • 200 ml cooking oil
  • 2 onions
  • 1 segment turmeric
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 segment ginger
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 200 ml of fresh yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Peel corn and clean the hairy part. Then wash under running water so dirt sticking on the sidelines could dissolve. Once drain, corn is cut in half. Set aside. Peel and chop onions roughly, set aside. Peel and then mash turmeric, set aside. Stir-fried cumin  until fragrant and it turns golden in color, set aside.
  2. Heat the oil over medium heat, and fry the corn until it turns golden in color and a bit dry. Lift and drain, set aside.
  3. Spices: peel and then mash garlic and ginger. Add sugar, mix well. Heat 2 tbsp of the rest of corn oil over a medium heat, and stir-fried onions, cumin, turmeric and spices until smooth and aromatic. Lift up and allow to cool.
  4. After some minutes to let it cool, pour the yogurt while keep stirring until  seasonings  and ingredients well blended. Stir in corn, stir well. Then heat again over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Best served hot.

Tips

* Serve with potato and if you like a chili sauce.

* Other ways of serving is with chilies powder pepper or grated cheese and parsley leaves slices.

* An alternative way of cooking is by steaming. Stir in corn and the seasoning into a heatproof bowl. Then steam for 15 – 20 minutes.
