GADO-GADO SAUCE RECIPE – We can say that gado-gado is some kind of Indonesian salad. You will find steamed vegetables, hard-boiled eggs, tofu, tempe, and lontong in this menu, served with a peanut sauce dressing. Wanna try to make the sauce? Check the following ingredients and steps.


  • 200 gr fried peanuts
  • 700 ml coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour, added with a little water to make it thick
  • Salt
  • Palm sugar
  • Vegetables oil

Grounded seasoning

  • 7 red chilies
  • 7 cloves of garlic, fried
  • ½ teaspoon shrimp paste


  1. Mash peanuts and some coconut milk using blender.
  2. After that, mix it with the rest of the coconut milk, then stir fried over the medium flame.
  3. While waiting the sauce to boil, stir-fried grounded seasoning until the aroma fills the room, and then add boiled sauce.
  4. Keep stirring the sauce over the low flame until the volume is less and it looks oily. After that add rice flour.
  5. Keep stirring until the sauce thick for another five minutes.
  6. Turn off the stove. Remove and set aside.
  7. Gado-gado sauce is ready to be served.
