JAMBAL SAMBAL RECIPE – For those of you who love spicy taste, love sambal or sauce, it feels like incomplete when we eat without sambal. With ingredients that you can find easily everywhere and the practical steps of making it, this sambal can be your perfect choice as your meal complement.

Grounded ingredients

  • 5 red chilies
  • 10 cayenne pepper
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoon shrimp paste

Other ingredients

  • 10 cm lemongrass, pounded
  • 1 cm galangal, pounded
  • 2 pieces of bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoon tamarind juice
  • 50 ml water
  • 2 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoon vegetable oil frying


  1. Stir-fried onions until the aroma fills the room.
  2. Add  grounded ingredients, lemongrass, galangal, and bay leaves. Keep stirring until fragrant.
  3. Pour the tamarind juice and water. Keep stirring over a low heat until the water reduced.
  4. Add salt, stir, and lift.

Jambal sambal is ready to be served as the complement of your main dish.
